We offer customized nature programs for groups of all kinds.
Plan an unforgettable day of learning, team building, and fun for homeschool crew, senior center, birthday party, scout group, corporate retreat, staff, friends, or family.

Our Wild Bear group programs include:

  • Games, activities, and learning based on the environment around us

  • A focus around: connection and exploration with nature, art, social emotional learning, body movement, mindfulness, and/or environmental advocacy.

  • Adaptive programming to fit the needs of your group

  • Professional instructors with backgrounds in environmental education.

PRICING:

  • $150/hr for up to 30 people

  • Groups over 30: $5/student (upwards of 30)

  • Travel Fees: $0.50/mile if traveling to a location over 40 miles round trip.

GROUP PROGRAM OFFERINGS/IDEAS

  • Join our team of educators on a meditative nature walk in which we awaken our senses to the natural world around us. Can include scavenger hunts, naturalist topics, art components, or whatever fits the needs of your group!

  • Join us on an adventure of forest ecology and tree communication. Learn about the root system communication and how that could be a good or a bad thing. We will understand the importance of forest diversity through exploring the assets of each tree species.

  • Explore the role fire plays in forest ecosystems! Get your hand on fire resistant forest features while we also seek to understand the role indigenous people had and continue to have on fire-dependent forests.

  • In this program we will explore species survival strategies! We especially love to explore the species of animal we might see in action on this program!

  • Explore different species' survival strategies for adapting to changing weather conditions. This program is offered October - January.

  • Open your eyes to all that changes in our environment as we lap around the sun.

  • Learn our animal tracks and signs that they've been here, even if you can't see them.

    Track Colorado’s amazing animals! Learn to identify signs that tell the story of the animals that share our woods, streams, and meadows. Investigate the pelts, skulls, and tracks of animals such as bears, elks, and beavers.

  • Exploration of Montane and Wetland ecosystems.

    This program provides an outdoor classroom in which children can directly observe organisms and their relationships to each other and their environment. Hands on activities include an eco-scavenger hunt and aquatic collection/observation workshop that provides insight into the ecological health of Mud Lake.

  • Investigate how energy moves through Earth’s organisms

    Join us as we explore how organisms interacts, how wolves changed rivers, and then create your own own artistic examples of food webs.

  • Climate scientists teach about snowpack and our watershed

    Schedule your group for a snowshoe trek through the forests of the Colorado Rocky Mountains! Climate scientists join us to teach about snowpack, study snow science, winter ecology and our local watershed. By utilizing state of the art snow science equipment, we will gain knowledge to help us to protect these beautiful mountains. By investigating animal tracks, we learn the stories of animals that live in a winter montane ecosystem.

    Wild Bear Nature Center partners with Winter Wildlands Alliance to deliver SnowSchoolβ€”a winter ecology field trip on snowshoes! SnowSchool is offered in Boulder and Gilpin counties.

  • Seasonal focus on plant life, flowers, and pollinators

    Explore parts of the plants and their pollinators as you learn about the life cycle of plants. Let’s discover the many ways we use plants and appreciate the importance of their pollinators.

  • Get ready for a buzzin' good time as we explore the amazing world of bugs in our Arthropod Zoo Program. Kids will learn all about bug parts, from shiny exoskeletons to wiggly antennae, and discover the important jobs these critters have in our world. Our goal is to make bugs cool and help everyone feel comfy around these awesome little friends! Let's have a buggy blast together! This is a great program for us to bring to your classroom!

  • Learn all about the owls of Boulder county! Explore their important role in our ecosystem, the adaptation they have for their lifestyle, and where and when you might see them!

  • Learn about our wild neighbors! Explore the critters you could find in your backyard or ours! Understand how all of these species are connected and how we as humans should (or shouldn't!) interact with them.
