Mosaic Stepping Stone Art Class
Join us at Wild Bear in this introductory class for creatives aged 13 and up!
We will explore the ins and outs of glass-on-concrete mosaics to create a beautiful garden stepping stone.
Over the span of this 4 hour class mosaic artist and teacher, Ippy Farnam, will cover tools used in the mosaic process, design considerations, glass cutting techniques, safety basics and gluing and grouting methods. A demonstration in grouting will happen as well - students will be sent home with grout and supplies to complete at home once the glue has dryed.
Ippy Farnam is a multi media artist currently engrossed in the world of mosaics. She is versed in Glass on Glass technique, public art installations and opaque cement works. Ippy is a retired Elementary Art Teacher that resides in Lyons, CO. Instagram @ippyfarnam

Sunday Snowshoe Hike
We invite you to strap on the snowshoes (Wild Bear provided), put on your warm layers, and hit the trails with us on a sure to please Saturday morning adventure this winter. Participants will keep moving on snowshoes as we explore as a community how wildlife adapts to winter conditions, the fun science behind snow, and so much!
Backcountry Film Festival

Presented by Winter Wildlands Alliance, the annual Backcountry Film Festival celebrates the power and spirit of humans in winter. The Great Backyard Bird Count
Join Wild Bear birders on a free walk around downtown Nederland participating in this global community science initiative. The Great Backyard Bird Count started in 1998, helping scientists learn more about birds just before one of their annual migrations.

Permaculture Introduction Course
Permaculture is a design science that uses nature as a model for designing human systems–from farms to cities. Through the lens of several inspiring local case studies, we will touch on topics such as the permaculture design process, techniques for rainwater-harvesting, designing forest gardens, integrating animals into living systems, and social design. There will be plenty of time for discussion and engagement with other participants.
