INSTRUCTOR BIO

ERYKA THORLEY
As Sustainability Coordinator for the Town of Nederland, I collaborate on various sustainability driven initiatives including zero waste and renewable energy goals. Nederland has long prioritized climate impact reducing strategies and my priority is to capitalize and expand on these efforts.
My previous roles include Sustainability Director and Tour Designer at Alpinehikers, an international travel organization where I specialized in connecting people and nature with responsible tourism. My depth of experience is vast, ranging from measuring fugitive methane emissions for the federal government on various campaigns to Safety and Travel Coordinator for a National Science Foundation project on the Greenland Ice Sheet. I am trained as a Qualitative Researcher from the University of Colorado Denver where I received a MA in Medical Anthropology and currently am a Environmental Management candidate at Western Colorado University with a focus on Sustainable and Resilient Communities.

TIMOTHY REHDER
I’m a Senior Environmental Scientist working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Brownfields Program.
