The Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center will host its 11th annual “Enchanted Forest” on Wild Bear’s property at Mud Lake Open Space where families and children of all ages can meet forest creatures and learn about their natural habitats.
The event takes place from 10am-5pm with shuttles departing the Mountain Ecology Center in downtown Nederland throughout the afternoon and evening. SEE MAP! OR, RIDE THE BUS FROM BOULDER!!! The RTD Bus offers service on the N bus between Boulder and Nederland with trips throughout the day and evening and drops off right at the Mutual of Omaha bank, at the shopping center where Wild Bear is located!! Arrive at Wild Bear downtown (see map), any time between 10am-5pm.
Enjoy exhibits and face painting at the Center all day!
At Wild Bear’s property at Mud Lake, enjoy tours from noon-5pm of the forest and…
11:00: Forest Fairy performance with Erica Sodos!
Noon: Live music with CrowSpeak
1:00: Father Forest performance with Doc Murdock
2:00-5:00 Live Bluegrass music with David Williams and friends!
From noon-5pm meet the wild animals on the trail in the forest, costumed characters who share stories of survival in the forest and how we can co-exist with nature by minimizing our impact on the natural environment and animal habitats.
Activities all day: Eco-ditty color your own Eco snack bag, talk to a Boulder County Parks and Open Space Ranger, hula hoop with the Hoop Fairy, slack line with Colorado Mountain Club, transform yourself into a fairy, gnome or elf with Wild Bear, face painting at the Center downtown before boarding the bus!
Enjoy delicious food from Wild Mountain Smokehouse or Crust Wood Fired Pizza, and delicious treats from New Moon Bakery.
NATURE COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED!!
A nominal ticket price of $8 in advance or $10 at the door (purchase at the Mountain Ecology Center in downtown Nederland) provides you with a ride on the Enchanted Bus (two buses will run this year thanks to Special Transit!), a tour of the trail to meet the animals, goodies and goody bag, admission to the performances, and access to all activities. Children ages 2 and under and seniors are admitted free of charge.
All proceeds from the event directly support Wild Bear and its mission to offer environmental education to people of all ages throughout Boulder County and the Front Range. Major sponsors of the event include Mutual of Omaha Bank, My Therapy Company, United Power, Wild Mountain Smokehouse, New Moon Bakery and Savory Cafe.

Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center is a tax-exempt non-profit corporation and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
No parking is available at Mud Lake to minimize the impact of the event on the land. Parking is available at Chipeta Park, the B & F Shopping Center and the Mutual of Omaha Bank in downtown Nederland.
