Colorado Weather and Climate

All Ages, Free at Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center

presented by Steve Williams, Weather Scientist.

Thursday, February 2, 6:30-7:30pm

Isn’t the weather just crazy?   Weather and Climate affects everyone’s lives and this is especially true in Colorado where extremes occur more frequently than many other parts of the country.  Learn about long-range seasonal weather predictions from NOAA’s National Weather Service and Climate Prediction Center and learn about the impact of global weather patterns such as El Nino and La Nina on our state’s climate.
Steve Williams has been a Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder for the past 20 years and is currently Head of the Data Management Group in NCAR’s Earth Observing Laboratory participating in research field projects around the world. Before accepting a position at NCAR, Steve worked for NASA (Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL), taught Meteorology at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, and was Assistant State Climatologist for Alabama. Steve attended Graduate School in Meteorology at Texas A&M University. Steve and his family are proud to call Nederland their home for the past 18 years!
